Classes for Students Entering 7th Grade

Registration begins May 4 at 8:00 am and ends May 25 at 5:00 pm.

 

For all USTAR Courses

  • Students may miss up to 3 hours per class without loss of credit in those courses.
  • Students may attend classes at any school but transportation is not available.
  • Do not wait to register. Classes fill up quickly and no other sections will be opened.
  • A class may be cancelled if a minimum of 15 students do not register for the class.

Preparation for 7th Grade Math

This course is for 6th graders entering 7th grade who have been placed in the 7th grade math course. It will review foundational concepts from 6th grade that will be built upon in 7th grade. Course topics will include: fractions and mixed numbers, ratios, expressions and equations, area, surface area, and volume, statistics, and rational numbers in the coordinate plane.

Preparation for 7th Grade Math Honors

This course is for 6th graders entering 7th grade who have been placed in the 7th grade math honors course. It will review foundational concepts from 6th grade that will be built upon in 7th grade. Preparation for 8th Grade Math Honors

This course is for 6th graders entering 7th grade who have been placed in the 8th grade math honors course and have not taken 7th grade math. It will teach important concepts from 7th grade math that students will not learn in any other course. Topics will include: integer operations, rational operations, expressions and equations, inequalities, ratios, proportion, percent, geometry, and statistics.
